"Use a modem with a Broadcom chipset instead of Intel Puma 6. Options include Arris SB6183, Zoom 5370, Motorola MB7420, or Netgear CM500/CM600. All are 16x4 modems except CM600 is 24x8.
Another option is the Netgear CM1000 - currently (as of time of this reply) the only DOCSIS 3.1 compatible modem. Its expensive - I'm waiting until DOCSIS 3.1 service is available in my area. I personally replaced my faulty Arris SB6190 with a Netgear CM600 because it was on sale one day, all the suggested modems with Broadcom chipsets will work well with highest speed tiers."
